WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

We will like to start with a popular saying he who educates a woman educates a nation. Over the years due to the cultural belief of Africans it was often said that women are better in the kitchen but study and statistics has proven that idealogy wrong because it has been discovered that what a man can do even a woman of substance has always excelled.

Our motive of putting up this write up is to be able to help in putting together some of the thing that are needed within our society or immediate environment to empower women, there are so many ways to deal with it but we only chose a few to enable you to really understand where we are going, we have government, political, societal orientation etc

GOVERNMENT FACTOR:

It is the responsibility of the government to put some certain structures in place that should be women friendly, such factors such like good health delivery to nursing mothers and pregnant women and if possible free health care to reduce high rate of maternal mortality among the women most especially from African. The government will be of help if they can implement some of the benji convention treaty that stipulates the right of women in the society, they could also restructured the financial institution by having a bank that will designated for women empowerment as the women will group themselves as co-operative entity the bank will be there to work in hand with the corporate societies for an onward delivering to their women members with little or no interest rate but strictly based on return as at when due for a rotational system among the members, with that a lot of women that are into trading, farming, little skillful works can advance from a small to medium scale industrialist.

EDUCATIONAL: Education should be as a matter of must to all girls at the educational age brackets and if possible free at the primary level.

POLITICAL:

So many years ago it was often believed in Africa that politics is met for men but in developed world politics was placed on a level playing ground, Africa men and society should wake up and realize that what makes up a person is on the inside not from the sex gender of the person, so many women today especially in Africa who has the opportunity to participate in one political or leadership position in Africa and around the world have proved themselves to be worthy and to be entrusted with things that concerns the betterment of our society, on that note we are of the opinion that our women today should be given an equal representation in our political lives like the men folks. We know that whoever wears the shoes knows where it pinches, women that are very close to the grass root, to homes and children knows where most of our problems are, so we are of the opinion that the women should wake up and make a stronger representation and accept themselves to achieve these goals, we believe that the more the women are represented the more they will be empowered.

SOCIETAL ORIENTATION:

This should sound as a wake up call to members of our society to understand why a woman should not only be in the kitchen but should be out there to brain storm and bring out the best in her for general benefit of the society, every human being has his/her own gift and should be encouraged, a woman with the necessary education background should be encouraged to get the highest level of her life where she will the opportunity to express her skills and divine talents. Women in the down trodden who are equally skillful should be encouraged to express her talent for the immediate benefit of her family and the community, time has come when we should stop looking down on women because of their choice of profession, women that are not ready to compromise should keep their head high with the immediate environment that they find themselves.

HOW TO ACHIEVE:

1. A woman must be focus, knowing what she wants, whom she is and whom she wants to be, a woman is encouraged to have a role model.

2. She must possess an independent mind; she should always have the cause to defend what she believes in.

3. A professional woman should get rid of emotions, should not allow her emotions to overwhelm her sense of reason.

4. A woman of substance must be highly responsible always stand tall among equals because she is not ready to compromise her feminine glory for a mere favor, those who have compromised have always been seen at the dustbin of history.

5. No matter the position she finds herself she should not compromise her family with her career

6. Women are encouraged to enroll to some meaningful and professional associations. Statistics has shown that with the mixed associations the best are been brought out from women with their ranks, be it professional associations, co-operative associations, community associations etc. They are encouraged to belong to the one best suited to their immediate environment.
